How can I stop snoring?
Question by lifeofdistinction: How can I stop snoring?
My girlfriend discovered that I snore and I would really like to find a way to stop – or at least supress it – so when we get married she won’t have to put up with it.

There’s various techniques to stop your snoring, but all somewhat just talk. the best way i think is to consult your ear nose throat specialist and ask how.

close your nose
)
go to your local drugstore. They have these strips that go across your nose to open up breathing through your nose. They really work! You’ll find em on the nasal decongestant aisle.
Snoring is easy to fix. Counsel a specialist.
Don’t sleep.
(What do you want?! Somebody had to say it!)
It is possible that you have Obstructive Sleep Apnea if your snoring enough to bug the girlfriend. This is a relatively common condition in 6% of the male population (3% of females until menopause)in which the muscles of the throat relax enough to collapse together, as your body tries to breathe through the obstruction, the tissues rattle together causing the snore. In many cases, you are limiting the amount of oxygen you need while you sleep and may be cutting off the airflow altogether for several seconds at a time, several times a night. There is a wealth of information on the topic in many of my previously answered questions on sleep….the short answer is get an appointment at a sleep disorders center and have a sleep study done to evaluate the seriousness of your snoring. Over the counter strips and other “snoring remedies” do not remotely fix OSA if you indeed suffer from that. Any primary care physician will gladly refer you to a sleep lab to be evaluated to find out for sure. Untreated OSA will lead to a lot of bad things you don’t want to deal with in your life.
Good Luck!
well clos your mouth and sleep like a baby when you were small look at the old days ok.love yaya honey
I dont think there is a way 2 stop snoring.
Buy pajamas that have pockets on the rear end. Sew tennis balls in the back pockets so you can’t comfortably sleep on your back which encourages snoring. Use the breath right strips – they help somewhat. Don’t drink at least a couple hours before bed (alcohol). Go see a doctor – it’s probably adenoids, or could be something worse like sleep apnea. Many times when people lose weight when they are heavy, the snoring stops too. Go see an ear, nose, and throat specialist.
